Here is one of the Brazilian Sega Tectoy Marvels, the " Master System Super Compact " ,in action...

If you have never heard of it, basically, is a RF wireless portable Sega Master System...Produced and only distributed in a few parts of South America, by the Brazilian Sega endorsed company, "TECTOY"...

Unfortunately, due to the poor popularity of the SMS(compared to other systems) in the US and perhaps the FCC regulations too, it wasn't released in North America....The system itself features: Built-in memory game, cartridge slot compartment, 12-13 channel selection switch, cable/antenna mode switch, a 2nd controller player port, battery compartment, DC port (for an external wired power supply) and a RCA RF output connector, (being the only video/audio mixed signals output) which can be plugged wireless with an external antenna, or it can be connected directly to the tv set with a wired RF modulator cable....

In case that you want to track down one of them, be aware that they aren't directly compatible with NTSC Tv's, because of their native region broadcast, with can range from PAL-M and PAL-N....I modded mine to be compatible with NTSC sets thou...

  • @emojo1990

Yep actually, there's a similar Brazilian Atari 2600 wireless portable clone that takes carts too, "The Megaboy"...I bought one just the other day..

  • it,s actualy porteble but it becomes useless unless a companny will make a porteble lcd screen for it with wireless antenna reciever builtin to justified portebility.

amezingly enough the signal is just great.

trough it,s a collectors item but it shut also work with a power supply to avoid running out of battery power.

Adding a LCD screen to the SMS Compact is actually really easy, I might try that some day....And It does has a power port connector for a external power supply, it runs out of 5V...

  • Thanks for sharing! Brazil was lucky to have the Master System last for so long there.

  • When I was 11 year old, my mother gives me a Master System Super Compact! Very nice classic console!

  • can you give a link to buy one?and if they will ship it to Greece.

  • The game gear is a portable sms with a smaller cartridge slot. you can fix it with a game king cartridge converter. sadly all gamegears that are out there are breaking down due to bad leaky transisters.
