  • *Because stoats are so irresistably cute, thats why! 3 years ago, when i 1st joined YOUTUBE, i NEVER commented on ANYTHING! Just watched da pretty videos and ignored the inane comments written below. I think its high time that i return to my old habitude...

  • I admire the mustilids, they are a very well designed predator and yes I find them amazing, I wish we had something that would keep the mustilid population in balance, I do not hate them, far from it. As far as NZ goes what I or you think does not matter very much, stoats and mustilids are a hugely successfull mammal and you can be assured no matter what stoats will be in NZ a long time after a lot of other bird species become extinct.

Do you know how far a stoat will travel, up to 5 km/day

  • *Please tell me u didnt go there? Perhaps if ur video was more interesting, youd get more entertaining comments???

  • ????? If its not interesting for you why are you still here ?

  • *And who are WE to deny the stoat a scrumptious kiwi dinner? Dont our mouths water when we see pheasant under glass, or orange peking duck? Mmmm, my mouth is watering now! How DOES kiwi taste, anyway?

  • Your wind-ups are boring .... try another user

  • *Also, u 1080 folks on Stewart? Dont forget to kill and eat ALL the feral pigs! Swine of all kind are omnivorous, and Gladly turn predaceous when the opportunity arrises. When i was a youngster, at Grandmas farm, i saw a chicken fall into a hog trough at feeding time. Well, the pigs commenced feeding, ate the poor bird alive! U forget, one of the pigs ancestors was Enteledon, the Hog from Hell!

  • My Sincerest APOLOGIES to Professor Carolyn M. King for my slanderous/libelous allegations of GREED, when in fact, it was a GREEDY MEMBER quoted price of your book at our Bookclub that I should have been INCENSED at, who shall indeed, be the BUTT of my wrath, shortly. Again, my Apologies, Ms. King.

  • *Retraction/ misprint. Did i say tenfold as expensive? I meant to say a HUNDREDFOLD! I kid u not! That is how Decadent this book Truly is...

  • Professor Carolyn M. King is INDEED alive and very wealthy, that is, if everyone pays a Queens ransom to read her newly revised edition of The Natural History of WEASELS AND STOATS.2007 Poor me, the ONLY way that i can afford to even TOUCH it is to check out a copy at my local library! The exorbidant, extravagant, pricetag is tenfold the price of the original publication in 1989, the only copy that i can afford to own. I LOVE stoats but Jeeze Louize! Or is it, Professor Greedy Cow?!

  • *Do you know that the Indian mongoose*Herpestes edwardsi, almost got a foothold on New Zealand soil? A couple of pets were released in 1912 and died out in 1920! The same thing happened to the Australian native cat/quoll*Dasyurus viverinus, in 1868! WOW!!

  • Also, yes, ive been a stoat fan ever since i read *The Natural History of WEASELS AND STOATS. By weasel expert Carolyn King. Is she still living? In New Zealand?? Stoats are lovely wonderful little animals and dont deserve to be vilified! They are only trying to survive as best they can, the same as the folks who brought them!

  • *Well, foxes keep stoat numbers down, Ooops! BITE my tongue! Ole brer fox will make SURE all New Zealands birds are extinct! And there will be plenty of stoats. lol What i propose is that u 1080folks should try bird restoration on a smaller, mustelid free island,Stewart? If u guys cant exterminate, possums, rats, cats, and dogs THERE?!....
