From Terrence Malick, the acclaimed director of such classic films as BADLANDS, DAYS OF HEAVEN and THE THIN RED LINE, THE TREE OF LIFE is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950's. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Through Malick's signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.

I disliked this movie so much. There were no flying robots, countless explosions, or shitty dialogue and acting. This movie is way too over my head, my small brain can't comprehend deep meanings and the themes in the movie. Whatever, im going to go watch Transformers.

Very nice filming and sceneries, but the story is too weird are far-fetched to like for me. Great acting performances though!

It made me feel very unique about myself, and could totally relate to the movie while nobody else could, because you know, everybody else is not as smart as I am. As a matter of fact, I had to explain it to the whole audience, because they're not smart either. I am smart. Very smart and i like to show it to people how special I am for having liked this movie

A unique movie experience (thank God). Wanted to stop watching early on...but couldn't...zoomed in deep, way past the need to be entertained...right to the spirit & soul....glad I kept watching...
