Such differences in the transcription are not uncommon in japanese language. For example: another word for "god" would be "kami" and the transcription for "goddess" is "megami" instead of writing it "mekami". This is due to a slight difference in pronounciation.

Bujin = God of War which is the name Hatsumi-sensei gives to the memory of his teacher, Takamatsu-sensei.
Bujinkan = House of the God of War = Takamatsu-sensei's lineage.
