According to UNESCO, (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), Yemen is the cultural capital of Arabia with the most internationally recognized sites.
UNESCO also proclaimed the tradition of poetic Yemeni songs a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
Their research has concluded that "Yemeni poetic singing & melody is the most original music transported to Andalusia and the only one remaining in its ultimate true form."
