This US Army guard beechcraft king air C-90 ( everybody calls it a king air 200 ) had two green lights on the gear , thats cool if you are a tail dragger but being a tricycle landing gear aircraft, its bad.
The nose gear would not lock in to the down position. So the fire crews were alerted, the pilot circled for about 1/2 hour to burn off fuel & let the fire crews & the cameras get in to position. I shot this from the national weather service observation platform at the Reno Cannon International Airport. The airport is at about 4900 feet in altitude so the airplanes travel a little faster while at that altitude. landing gear failure crash landing Reno

  • Damn fast shut down and feathering the props before nose down. Nice.

  • @lighthouscolor He did. If you watch closely the engines were shut down after the mainwheels touched the ground. Shutting them down on final would have been very unsafe. This was the most "crash" landing I've ever seen

  • typical senior behaviour, jump in line in front of everyone , then take forever to get off the bus... meh!!

  • Nicely done.

  • Ace Ventura landed it...LIKE A GLOVE!

  • @SkatingIsMyWayOfLife

Have you ever heard of something called grammar?

Ever notice how some people drop periods and commas and

capitalize the first word of something called a "sentence"?

  • @lighthouscolor He most likely new and it wouldn't of mattered if he feathered them or not its a 3 blade prop which means this is going to be no avoiding the prop from touching the ground which automatically means over haul of the engines and with no nose gear they were likely going to slam down on them if they were stopped any way and worst scenario he still needs to go around and now he's got feathered props if he can afford that plane he can afford new engines so why bother

  • This is nothing compared to the iran air flight

  • Did the pilot know the nose gear was not locked? If so he could have saved a lot of damage to the plane by stopping the engines on final approach.

  • "Whahappon?"

"I taughta u gonna lowerda landingear"

"No I taughta u gonna lowerda laningear!"

    "Sheee"
