This is me with my piano teacher. again this is the third movement and we had to cut some of it out cuz there was a time limit for my orchestra's concert...
anyway this is at Nazareth College with my piano teacher Gary Fisher.

  • The slower tempo makes it sound a little stodgy and heavy.

  • i agree... you don't realize it until you compare it to how fast its supposed to be. i wish i had urged my piano teacher to let me play it faster. I could've done it!!! i can do it now!

  • How long did you spend learning this? I'm working on it at the moment....there ae a few tricky corners but i really like it!

  • its more complicated than it took me 8 months because i was working on other pieces throughout the whole year, and i knew i didn't need to have it learned until the end of the school year because that is when i was to perform it with my high school. it really only took me somewheres between a month and 2 months to be able to play through the whole piece.

  • I love this concerto. I love the first mvt too the cadenza is really different. Any hints for 6.41 to

  • i agree.

haha. i cheated a little and left out the last couple of notes in my left hand so that i only had to jump with one hand at a time, and its barely noticeable so it was okay. i may have done that in a one other place too, but i forget.

good luck, i hope you post it when you're finished, i'd like to hear

  • I also prefer the tempo of the original, however I only wish I could play a fraction as well as you did on the piece. Well done and keep it up. This piece is as difficult as they come.

  • i like this version better than the one with your orchestra, but id prefer it a bit faster like what oktalp said. careful with the some notes. :) good job in general..

  • This young man is very special with special talent. He worked very hard on this piece.

  • wow. good job, but tell your teacher to get that orch. part right! Did you hear this piece before you were assigned to play it? I think you have to have a true love for a piece like this before you decide to play it.

  • Diciamo che non fa le ottave parallele proprio come la Argerich...

  • I am a professional pianist--I'm glad you hear and feel the difference.
