if u decrease the tooth size on overflow it should alow a constant flow of water, making it sound more like a waterfall, less like a person with bladder issues

the sound of the sea?? lol, thats not what the ocean sounds like. that sound you're hearing is unique to the combination of a much-too-tall overflow box and a wavemaker.

@MRBromley1 Infact it's a nice sound of rippling water unlike some aquariums that have an annoying sound of buzzling equipments, i love to hear the sound of the sea when watching the look of the sea.
