Brenham meteorite dig, last for 2011. Weather is getting too cold to dig, have to wait for spring 2012 to get going again. Two Brenham pallasite meteorites within 10 feet of each other and we are still getting a signal with the metal detector-at least 1 more in the same area, maybe 2.

¡Ay, caramba!

  • Awesome Don. Have you ever found a non- pallasite or a cold find while out in the brenham strewnfield? Merry Christmas to you and yours Don.

  • @milkywaypride99 No, everything here in Brenham has been an iron or a pal. The pi detector and the mineralized soil make finding a chondrite unlikely, a couple of stones have been plowed up. My only cold find has been with a magnet on the end of a rope & walking around the desert. We keep an especially close eye on the irons as there could be a new discovery. But, nowadays we can only hope it won’t have come from Canyon Diablo. He got 2 turntables and a microprobe :-)

  • Thank you Vicky, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you! Nice video of San Antonio, looking mighty fine!
