Thanks for posting. I discovered Bix while in high school in the 50's and bought a Columbia 3LP record set. I was attracted to his music by his unique sound - little vibrato, understated, always identifiable when playing with other musicians. He was a self taught coronet player and used unorthodox fingering. Perhaps this contributed to his distinctive sound. He died of pneumonia while traveling to a winter gig in Boston. His health had been weakened by his alcoholism.
