Can I use QuarkXPress to hide content from one user and make it available to another? For example some part of a pdf needs to be hidden from certain users and be made available to others. So in essence can i publish one pdf into two copies with specific content that is specific to the user.

Interesting idea but no, I don't know a way that you would achieve this in design software for a PDF. Sorry.

It really depends on how your document is organized, If you use distinct text boxes that get shared or not shared between master and child documents, then yes, that's possible out-of-the-box with the shared content feature. Otherwise it's probably a task for an XTension or content-first (XML) workflow.

Hi there, Sorry, I'm not quite understanding the question. Could I suggest that you do a Web search for Quark Forums and post your question there, perhaps with a screenshot or sample document to enable us to better understand the issue. I'm not clear if this is a specific eBooks question or a more general one around QuarkXPress but there are forums for both and hopefully we'll be able to assist you. You might also want to search for QuarkEd for additional free training resources.

I am not sure if I made my requirement clear to you, hence let me explain it this way
I am the end user; I want to make one master epub document (either single page or multi page). I want to share parts of that one document with multiple people, however I want to make copies of that master document (copy will only contain information that I want to specifically share).
So to summarize; 1 original document and multiple copies. Each copy will only contain information that I selectively allow.

How can I format the table of contents for me Ebook? I finished already with the formating and created the table of contents with 2 levels, when I see it on my kindle for example it gives me numbers for the first level (1,2,3...) and letters for the second ( a.-, b.-, c.-...) How can I do to convertid all to numbers for bouth levels (1., 1.2, 1.3...) like that thank you

The statement at 3:30 needs to find its way to editors and readers. Many designers have dismissed epub efforts because the content did not look like the print version. For publications who cherish their journalistic content, I don't see how giving control to the reader over font and size can ever be a bad thing.
