Sometimes I can feel lonely, maybe a stressful day can bring me down
But that's okay 'cause with the loving and the laughing and the dancing it's impossible to frown
Because the people from the islands know that life is for enjoying
and they just like to cruise without a care
so what's the worry, what's the hurry? Just relax and let the music take you there.

So keep it light, don't break down,

The people skankin, the bass is crankin,
the girls wear a milky white flower in their hair
and when the beach is too far too reach
suns out, guns out, board shorts slippers anywhere
and when it's time to eat we'll open up a can of Spam
mix it with rice and nori when you take it out the pan
and when the evening comes it's time for all bus Dumbledore
with guitars and ukuleles we'll be jammin on the floor and we'll be singin

My people love and respect me for the person that I am
even when I was just a haole boy with drumsticks in my hand
my people showed me a side of life that I'll hold onto for all time
I finally figured out the definition for "da kine"
And I know that no matter where I go or where I decide to live
I'll always have a home among the people that have given me
the love and loyalty of a family member
all by brothers and my sisters aunties uncles I'll remember
