http://www.behindtheburner.com Dessert for breakfast, dessert for dessert! Count on Chef Francois Payard to satisfy your chocolate cravings. Impress your friends over the holidays or spend some time alone seduced into Chocolate Epiphany, hand-signed by Chef Payard.

"Tip: Fresh brioche is best for this Chocolate French Toast recipe, but leftover bread can also be used.
Tip: Use a very dark, bittersweet cocoa powder. The cake is rich enough without the extra sugar.
Trick: For a more intense natural flavor, fresh vanilla beans are always best!
Technique: Make sure to freeze the French toast, once soaked in the cocoa mixture, on a parchment-covered baking sheet. This is done so the chocolate doesn't fall out of the French toast sandwich before it is cooked in the honey.
Tip: Don't let the honey caramelize, just allow the flavors to melt together.

Trick: Glaze when the cake is cold, you want the glaze to set, not melt right off the cake.
Tip: Make sure to serve cake at room temperature to be able to taste the chocolate flavor in its natural state."

  • Uhhh, am I the only one who noticed that this IDIOT said that "I use little bit of the honey, because I don't use sugar. The recipe was NO sugar AT ALL...", even though we all saw him add what looked like sugar, and HE SAID was sugar, into the eggs after he broke up them up?!?!?!?!?!?!? REALLY?!?!? Are you F'n kidding me!!!! What a JOKE!

    Continued-

  • Besides that, I could hardly understand what he was saying with his ugly sounding accent (not ALL people with a French accent sound good--this moron is PROOF, and exhibit A.). AND, the jerk never tells us how much to add, of any of the ingredients, or how long to freeze, 'cook', etc. Yeah, don't think I'll be watching videos from 'Behind the Burner' anymore, even if Caroline is beautiful, and very pleasant.
