(second part) Most of the time, when he was filming in town, it was made without authorisation. It's an evidence there wasn't a lot of money for the props and FX. The film had a prize because it was the first film of the director and maybe because it was produced by CANAL + (and others). I know the housing estate in which he was filming because I lived there 8 years. It was a surprise to see "my tower" , that I left in 1977, the first time I saw the film.

Why do you think the article is a joke ? "Bernie" is a very, very black comedy. The comic comes from the gap between the world and the guy who doesn't know what means good and bad. He has good intentions, but everything he does is done by a 5 year old child. It's the first film directed by Albet Dupontel (actor and director). He directed a short film before this one, "Désiré", and directed 3 after. He performed on stage and in TV sketches before. He stopped medecine studies after 4 years.

The movie's background is about a child who was left for dead by his parents the day of his birth. In fact they just threw the baby through a garbage evacuation facility.
So he grows up in an orphanage and decide to find his parents when he become adult.
The guy is so mad that he's convinced his parents were kidnapped by a secret society the day of his birth and a couple of others crazy things. Violent, insane this movie is just great.

the man is sick. i'm from denmark, and we saw the movie today, in french. it is fucked up! i'm 15 and goes in 9th grade. i'm serious, the film is sick!!!
