8 Foot Scratchbuilt R/C B2 Maiden Attempt. It has twin 70mm EDFs at 1300W on 4S Part 2. It has vertical stabilizers, but they will be removed once the plane gets in the air.

  • try lowering ur rear landing gear

  • @NoFate94

I ended up removing the retracts and going fixed gear, seen in part 3

  • just wondering , did u glide test it before adding the electronics or did u just guess the cg? no disrepect intended just wondering is all

  • @vtran1000 Yep, I glide tested it long before I tried this takeoff. I also calculated the CG, but this attempt was not a CG problem, it was a landing gear issue.

  • Been there done that. My observations are you had flying speed - plenty by my count. If your main gear is too far rearward from your CofG the B2 is a bugger to rotate - it's very short coupled. I fly a 10' er and went through all the same issues

  • thanks for the tip! I think I am a bit nose heavy. I gotta recalculate.

  • it looks underpowered

  • Lookin forward to seeing that huge thing in the air! I had similar issues in the past...my nose wasn't higher than my tail....couldn't rotate on take off....

  • damn

well better than the landing gear falling off in mid air then loosing them

allways look on the bright side of life lol!
