  • @milodaman2 Sweet! Those GFS lipstick pickups sound awesome!

  • @LehmanAaron this was an old comment, since then I've learned more about his guitar. and stuff.

I'm lucky that I have an old Tokai Springy Sound. I'm testing some GFS lipstick tube pickups that'll go in a partscaster. Then it's back to stock tokai! The stock pickups in these guitars are really good.

  • @milodaman2 SRV's pickups were stock 59 strat pickups, which weren't overwound, contrary to popular belief. Fender tested the output of his pickups after SRV died, and they were right along with what you would expect from vintage strat pickups. The slider's vintage SRV 59's are the closest you can get to an actual vintage strat pickup, as I write this my guitar tech is installing a set into my 2011 American Deluxe ash bodied strat, I can't wait to play them for the first time today or tomarrow

  • The 59 pup's are pure legend. For one thing, Rene Martinez (SRV guitar tech) has said it loads of times. Secondly, back in 59, Strat pups were not dated or ink stamped. Never. Most important: SRV's Number One was a stock August 1962 Strat considering the tech specs, neck and body date. Strats manufactured between May to October 1962 (roughly) left the factory with slightly overwounded pups (it was a short lived strategy to avoid the "surf sound"). Take care.

  • @razorette1 the pickups were '59s that were slightly overwound on accident. stevie called it a 59 because that's what it said on the back of one of the pickups, the body and neck and everything else was put together in '63 and sold. the closest you can get to them are Sliders vintage pickups '59

  • @ShredderGuitar2 srv used other necks and frets too

  • No srv did not use texas specials. If you're talking about No1 that was a stock 63 strat. except for the whammy bar and nut I believe...

  • @PhantomCover ummmmmmmm yah i think stevie used the texas specials......my bad

  • @ShredderGuitar2 arent the texas specials the srv ones? I just thought since it was texas specials.... and texas flood. now Im not sure!

  • you have to be like rich to have custom made stuff. just saying for all those people that have all these fancy guitars. i want a fender strat with ethier texas specials or a fender with SRV's pickups.
