@1ns4ne1d10t if you take out the vtec the car still can goes to 8300rpm but you wil don't have that kick at 5500rpm, the vtec was invented to make a car economic at low rpm and powerfull after 5500rpm,if you take out the vtec the car looses the economy at low rpm so you will have more power and at 5500rpm there's no vtec kick but the engine outputs the same hp and goes to 8300rpm.by the way the civic without vtec it's a 1.8 NA and outputs 140hp and what about the vw 1.8l NA ?120hp?

@SlipshT Tell you what, when Honda can finally produce a conventional petrol engine which is a normally aspirated 1.6 16V/1.8 16V - 6,000 RPM engine which puts out a standard 150bhp, 166bhp, or 200bhp without the aid of a VVT inlet cam, or a Vtec zone to shove it past 6,000 revs come and knock on my door and tell me about it and I will congratulate Honda for making a 100% normal petrol engine with a high output. Until then don't bother...

@SlipshT The ITR only had 200bhp on a 1.8 litre engine because it had VTEC. No Vtec = No 200bhp. Vtec is not what I would call a "Normally aspirated" engine because it adds turbo equivalent power after 5,500 revs in the form of a high revving variable valve timing assistance which can't be compared to a normal 6,000RPM output engine so my discussion ends here because I have no further comment. VW relies on a Turbo for Bhp, Honda relies on a Vtec for Bhp - end of discussion.

@SlipshT Will you give it a rest, you are really starting to bore me to death. Do you actually have anything else you can talk about apart from Hondas? It just seems your life revolves around Vtec engines and their so called "perfect" reliability. (Even though I've seen them breaking headgaskets and blowing up internals 10 to the dozen) I'm really not interested in this subject anymore because its gone beyond a point and its become a total bore if I'm honest *Yawn* but you can't see it.

@SlipshT ...You can afford everything that I can't just because you currently have three cars!? The number of cars you own means nothing about your financial status over my financial status. I (like you) can easily own three or more heaps of shit all at once and the three of them put together still wouldn't amount to quarter of the value of what my seven year old car is worth. Owning several old heaps is a great way of sounding richer than you actually are its like buying in bulk.

@SlipshT Which part of "good" and "bye" did you not understand? I really havn't got my work cut out to argue with some anti-VW insect on youtube about cars. I really don't care about Hondas "1.8 NA 140bhp" achievement because Vauxhall got 140bhp out of an NA 1.8 and Rover got 160bhp out of an NA 1.8 K series 15 years ago, you can get 140bhp out of any NA 1.8 from 120bhp if you upgrade the stock kit, engine software or internals so it really isn't an amazing acheivement...
