Boeing's (NYSE:BA) first delivery of the 787 Dreamliner may get pushed into early next year due to inspections and changing instruments on the flight test aircraft, according to general manager Scott Fancher.
Fancher said that as of right now the company still intends to deliver the first 787 to Japan's ANA by the end of the year but "as a cautionary note" may extend the delivery a few weeks into 2011.
The company needed a series of changes in test instrumentation on the flight test planes. Fancher also said that the need for additional inspections "stacked up" and reduced the time margin built into the testing schedule. He added that Boeing is "strongly focused" on completing the tests and getting the first plane delivered in December.
Boeing shares are currently trading 0.82% lower at $64.22.

Are they focused or confused?

I saw the CEO of Qatar complaining about the timeline and threatened to cancel the Boeing 787 order. I say, go ahead and cancel your order and we'll cancel our military guarding your country. Let the Iranians handle your security!
