Even though most people think of Cancun Mexico as a place where you can have a lot of fun and nothing more, this is simply not true. Namely, the island of Cancun has a very rich historical heritage, which can be seen in many art museums and galleries it has to offer. From the first people who lived on this island, the Maya, to the modern times, Cancun Mexico has always been a very interesting place and a place where everybody wanted to go. Therefore, let us see what this island has to offer in terms of museums and galleries:

There are more than 800 Mayan artifacts to be seen here, and the history of all these artifacts is explained thoroughly, although in Spanish. However, these descriptions are also available in English, and visitors can ask for these at the ticket counter. The Archeological Museum of Cancun is open for visitors every day, from 9 am to 8 pm.
