Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood's Golden Age, Cole Phelps is an LAPD detective thrown headfirst into a city drowning in its own success. Corruption is rampant, the drug trade is exploding, and murder rates are at an all-time high. In his fight to climb the ranks and do what's right, Phelps must unravel the truth behind a string of arson attacks, racketeering conspiracies and brutal murders, battling the L.A. underworld and even members of his own department to uncover a secret that could shake the city to its rotten core.

Using groundbreaking new animation technology that captures every nuance of an actor's facial performance in astonishing detail, L.A. Noire is a violent crime thriller that blends breathtaking action with true detective work to deliver an unprecedented interactive experience. Search for clues, chase down suspects and interrogate witnesses as you struggle to find the truth in a city where everyone has something to hide.

Developed by Team Bondi in conjunction with Rockstar Games, L.A. Noire arrives for PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360® on May 17th 2011 in North America and May 20th 2011 in Europe.

  • @MacGregorChris There is literally NOTHING that is similar between Mafia 2 and LA Noire.

    In fact, they're opposites.

The time period is the same, but the time period is the same for both CoD and Uncharted. Totally different games, same time period.

The graphics are different, the gameplay is different, the quality is different, the developer is better-err...different, every thing is different. This game has a chance of getting multiple GOTY awards.

  • @BillyOwns100 Nope, there's no multiplayer, mate.

  • now let me ask people here. is L.A. Noire successful because of it's association with Grand Theft Auto? or because Rockstar games have made some of the best games in the industry such as Red Dead and Canis Canem Edit/Bully?

  • Why does it sound like a Eastenders at the start?

  • @Freezerdude22 Yeah.

  • @SuperAdviceMan + in mafia your part of a gang in L.A. Noire your a cop :)

  • Terrible ending.

  • Cool game. Shame its another game with a lame ending.

  • @GOOB3000 The mafia has nothing to do with this though. There are gangs in LA Noire, but the mafia was in NYC at this point in time.

  • @SuperAdviceMan It's still a 3rd person Mafia game.

  • This is going to change video games forever. :D

  • @kingharris22 hahah, i'll tell you what, when L.A. Noire gets ''GOTY'', think back to the comment you just put!
