Allegations of electoral fraud continue to mount in Afghanistan as the country awaits results of its August 20 polls. Latest figures from the Independent Election Commission put incumbent president Hamid Karzai in a decisive lead for the first time. But UN-backed election monitors warn no results can be certified until they have investigated more than 700 serious allegations of voting irregularities.
