http://www.Employment Crossing.com Facing up to 20 years in prison if convicted, on Tuesday, State Senator Dianne Wilkerson, age 54, was arrested by FBI on public corruption charges. Wilkerson was allegedly caught accepting $23,500 in bribes to move legislation. The FBI had been investigating Wilkerson for 18 months. In some surveillance videos in which transactions were caught on tape, Wilkerson is reportedly seen stuffing cash into her undergarments. As the first African American woman to ever serve in her post at the Massachusetts Senate, Wilkerson currently faces up to 20 years in prison plus $250,000 worth of fines if found guilty and convicted of both criminal counts. Wilkerson has served on the Senate since 1993 and many are shocked and saddened by the allegations against her. Jennifer Roman, former prosecutor and legal analyst has stated that a plea deal is more likely than a trial since there is an overwhelming amount of evidence against Wilkerson. Roman went on to comment that should Wilkerson go to trial and be found guilty, she could face 20 years maximum jail time, a hefty fine and a very long probation period.
