Yes; Rossi often shows up for World Superbike races, especially when they're in Italy.
The announcers joked about how he is welcome to join the superior series if he likes it that much. Also about how every time they tried to get a camera shot of him watching the racing, a fan was tapping him on the shoulder for an autograph/photo, and he likely didn't even know who was in the lead.
These were some awesome, close races.
