In our increasingly socialistic mindset in the U.S., few people stop to think about what raising taxes even means. In fact, for the first time in history, the socialistic brainwashing has been so complete that a large number of citizens actually argue for MORE taxes. Of course they do not think they will be the victims of such income redistribution. In this video, Thompson makes the point that politicians who say they will only be taxing all those greedy rich businesses, don't tell citizens that those taxes will be passed on to them ("the poor") as they buy clothes, food, and gas. He likens this to drawing water out of one side of the bucket and ignoring what is pouring out of a spigot on the other side.

When the Founders guaranteed us the right to the "pursuit of happiness," they meant the right to work as hard as we want to earn as much as we can--and to keep it and do with it as we please. (Hopefully, after basic needs are met, trying to make a better world with it.) Socialism attempts to deny this right. The disincentives taxing success creates for entrepreneurs and business will eventually destroy the economic greatness of the U.S.

There was also a moving account of John McCain's time in the military, his courage and patriotism in the face of five and a half years of torture. Thompson contrasted that with his opponent's inexperience. What he did not mention was that at about the age McCain was when he was enduring torture for his country, Obama was getting experience with "Reverend" Wright who was "God damning America," and befriending America's enemies, such as the domestic terrorist, William Aires. It is hard to understand how someone with these credentials--credentials that would not permit him clearance for a high government security position--could actually rise to the top of one of the nation's two top political parties and potentially be the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth.

  • Just wanted to say my piece!

Listening to Obama is like being in pep rally for a losing sports teams...

They cheer and say how much they are going to beat the other team, but in the end like always they lose.

So Richardgwm if you want a cheerleader for a president that is your choice but to sit here and say that being from a different party is wrong and everyone in that party is wrong I wonder what other opinions you have?

Being a biggit does not help no one!

  • Obama is where he is because he is young, has a cool black swagger, fist greets, plays basketball, turns some women on--he is tall, dark, and handsome, is a good orator, offers the promise of lots of "free" stuff, is extremely liberal, and helps relieve white guilt. Those can be the only reasons, since he has no special qualifications to take the most important political position in the world, nor has he accomplished anything. Talk about a dumbed down voting block!

  • um, the Republican's VP nominee raised taxes many times as a small town mayor.

She inherited a city with no debt, and left it with a whopping bill when she left.

  • I do not know who you are referring to, but i am not a Republican. Anyway, since you cannot prove the relationship between stock prices and presidents is cause-effect related, you take the typical course of a Democrat in that reason does not matter, just ideology.

  • I'll let Jeremy Siegel explain:

    finance(dot)yahoo(dot)com/expert/article/futureinvest/104492

  • Presidents do not make laws that affect the stock market.

  • Stock markets reflect emotion more than they do real underlying economic forces.

  • Clinton was not responsible for economic growth. The Gingrich led congress was.

  • I would like to hear an explanation of how these stats could possibly reflect the impact of republicans on the stock market. An explanation of how the dems anti-business, increase tax and government stupidty would increase the stock market would be interesting.

  • Typical Republican. Results don't matter.
