Oil needs to last in our society until Nuclear Fusion is a form of self-sustainable energy, which is going to take at least another century if not more.

Humanity has gotten to where it is now entirely because of oil. It has allowed us to expand as a population to a point where we're living beyond the carrying capacity of the natural world. Take away oil and humanity will crumble. This documentary is truely frightening.

Taking a closer look at how food is grown, produced and distributed is the essence of understanding, why industrial civilisation cannot and will not survive without oil.
