what do lgbt rights have to do with the green agenda?
i think its a bit unfair to judge the conservative party like yes we do have a bad history on that front but the party has changed the line and the dinosaurs such as ann widdecombe (who most likely is a closet lesbian) are going away. we have gay mps and the party would vote for a marriage bill wear it to come up.
@1896yeah I can understand your view but the conservatives are not objecting on fair idealist grounds where they will push for LGBT people are treated fairly on character. Most of their opposition is directly related to prejudice and dislike for LGBT people having an equal freedom and footing in society.
Just because the Conservatives voted against the Equalities Bill does not mean they are against equality itself. An equal society is one where everybody is judged according to the quality of their character, and things like sexual orientation and race are irrelevant.
The Equalities Bill undermines this notion, and has nothing to do with equality. This is one of the few issues that makes me hesitant about joining the Green Party.

In all fairness there are more gay Conservatives than there are gays of all the other parties put together.
