Rare video dated 1951.One of the first works by Bob Fosse choreographer:a great Jazz dance performed by Bob himself with his first wife Mary Ann Niles.

  • This is so cool! Where on earth did you dig it up! It's funny 'cause the dance style is not quite typically Fosse, yet, but you can see some of his characteristic moves had already started to take shape.

Thanks so much for posting it! :-) I featured it on my blog, EcleticDance, a couple of weeks ago in a post about Fosse.

  • Great to see this! Fosse was still tap-based at the time, but the Cole influence is already at work. For course, when Gwen Verdon arrived in Fosse's life and career, she brought MAJOR Cole references. It is incredible to see the evolution of a stle, isn't it?

  • waaao!

    i was exited!:)

  • THank you! What a gem... I'd characterize it as Jack Cole high on sugar...
