The full-stage werewolf in An American Werewolf in London is still the best looking werewolf in film history. This is true artistry, innovation and talent on a grand scale. These effects had to be invented from scratch. Today's CGI has become far too over-used, although it's impressive, but it's been overdone. Rick Baker's work and his effects-crew on this film totally deserved the Oscar that he won for best SFX.

Did Rick Baker call the gorilla a fat black man?

A disappointing shoot? it was amazing

@nightshadedesign yeah, that was the comment. Yeah, now that you pointed it out, it does seem sarcastic. When I originally watched it though I got the impression that Landis thought that he had gone downhill. But yeah, I think you are right. I am a sarcastic person but even still, it is quite hard to pick up on sometimes.

@bergalini Do you mean the "Whatever happened to Rick Baler Comment?"? It was deadpan sarcasm. He was joking. Baker became a total superstar and went on to win 7 Academy Awards.

@NappySoul23 They are in "American Werewolf in London". After the attack on the moors, David has intense nightmares. They were in one of his dreams.

28 years later, still utterly brilliant. Even with today's computer technology, the effects in this movie have NEVER been topped.
That's pretty incredible.
