The sun "sets" here behind a band of cloud, not the horizon. This was shot in mid-May, and the time lapse is 10x actual speed.

For this one, I recorded about 25 minutes of video on a HD camcorder, downloaded it all to my iMac, and sped it up in iMovie. This works well if you have enough time to download, and enough free gigabytes on your hard drive. Once I rendered the video, I deleted the original raw footage, because i didn't have enough space to store it permanently.
