Me playing one of my all-time favorite songs... I think it came out quite alright! however, far from perfect.. rate and comment please =)

Setup and gear.. very easy and simple:

- Ibanez GRG170DX (signed by Steve Vai himself!!! =D)
- EMG 81 on bridge, and soon an 85 on neck.
- Randall RG200D 200W Tube/Mosfet Power Amp from G3 Series (hybrid amp.. mix of tube and power amp)
- D'Addario Strings .009 - .046
- DiMarzio 10ft (3m) guitar cable.
- Dunlop Tortex 1.14mm pick.

No pedals were used... distortion kinda sucks that way.. Should've used my Electro-Harmonix Metal Muff, but oh well, what are you gonna do..

Muchisimas gracias por el comentario! :)

  • Back when Bodom was extremely amazing. Except for the second solo, which I think I would struggle with, this song looks very learnable. All the tabs for the main riff are wrong, though. I may have to slow it down on Audacity and figure it out. You did!

  • @firesoftheempyrean

Haha yeah, this song is a relatively easy one, and very fun to play! And yes, every tab I saw of this song got the main riff wrong. I had to figure it out by ear, and then I double checked with a video I saw of Alexi playing it himself. Look for it, it's somewhere around the 'Tube! Or you could always use Audacity to slow it down, of course haha it's an amazing tool. Good luck, and let me know if you upload a cover of it! :)

  • @AlbertoLaiho hey man its me again lol. Just saw this video . very nice playing and tone. I ve heard Emg's got more sustain from passives and i like sustain. I ll go to EMG's 81 not tonezone. ty

  • @SpearShark

Haha no worries dude! I'm actually glad you went for an RG350DX, it's actually better than this one. In fact, I think it's the "next-in-line" guitar after this one. Enjoy it, and merry Christmas to you, too! :)

  • @AlbertoLaiho Late thanks! I still ordered rg 350dx cause it has wizard II neck which is has more "shreddable neck". Merry christmas, guy! ;)

  • @SpearShark

    Thanks man!

And yes, this guitar is VERY "shreddable". Thin neck, but not too thin, and with a good setup, it plays very well. The only thing to consider are the pickups, since they suck. And also the FAT-10 bridge, which gives LOADS of intonation and tuning problems. If overhauled properly, this guitar could really excel in many aspects.

  • VEry good cover! You don't suck, like most... Is it easy to shred with this guitar?

Is it easy to play those very fast cob song with this guitar?

  • The RG100G3 and the RG200D are basically the same amp. They deliver the same tone. The only difference is the wattage of the amp. The RG200D has 200 Watts of power, hence the name, so it's louder, and the RG100 has 100 Watts of power. Also, the RG200D comes with built-in effects, which are rather useless. I'd get myself an RG100G3 and with the spare money I'd probably get some.

    Thanks for your comment, bro!

    Hope I helped :)
