This song finished in 6th place in the 1989 Irish National Final (Eurosong '89). Linda has twice taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest finishing in 2nd place with 'Terminal 3' in 1984 and winning the contest in 1992 singing 'Why Me'
This was definitely the best of the 1989 national finalists. It would doubtless have been chosen if Ireland weren't so concerned about winning twice in 3 years. This would have smashed Riva's "Rock Me", though I concede that the writers of Cagney and Lacey's theme may have had a thing or 2 to say. Linda's appearance has always been extravagant and glamorous. The puff ball skirt was in mode at that time and can't be compared to the net curtain and tragic double breasted Celine Dion number.
Christ Almighty! And I'm not even Catholic - that was appalling! In 1992, she got it right, thanks to JL. At that time, she was the spitting image of Sue-Ellen Ewing. You're right about the get-up. That's Celine's dresser taking the mick. Oops -
Well she's an eurovision winner =) more than can be said of you loser pigs :P

She's really going for the Celine Dion 1988 look, but that tune I've heard somewhere else before - oh yes, it's the theme to Cagney and Lacey
