MO0nhawk89 there are more than german flags there, america has all sorts of ethnic mixes. regarding hessians, they fought as mercenaries for George 2 against Prince Charles Edward Stuarts Jacobities in 1745/46 and continued into the american wars of the time. germans, scots? hey! were all over the place, we are probably from the same ethnic group, my ancestors came to scotland courtousy of the vikings, via macedonia, germany, austria and all countries to the north.

depends on the british regiment in question. if the regimental facing was green then they would wear green coats with red facings etc etc.

Saying he was Prussian does not make it so. Like Napoleon, his parents were also born in Corsica.

Originally the uniforms for the American soldiers were Blue with red facings and the musicians were red with blue facings, but I think that eventually the uniforms evolved into a single colour (probably as a cost-cutting measure), Field Musicians were supposed to wear the reverse colours of their regiment so that they could be identified as non-combatants in the field (you were not supposed to shoot at non-combatants such as musicians and medical staff).

Yeah, The Continental Army had blue regulars and red musicians and the British Army had red redcoats(go figure) and blue Artillery and Musician crews

Hessians(from Hesse-Kasse - I think it is named, the region near Rhineland or something like that) fought for the British crown because of a contract between some German States and Britain(Hannover too I believe gave soldiers)
