  • The camera director should be shot.

  • The thing about Gadd is his rhythm. He makes you want to move even if you can't dance. He places every note he plays where he wants and it is in time. I feel every note he plays. He puts all his intention into everything he plays, even one quarter note. That is what him stand out. He doesn't use technique for the sake of itself. He uses technique to make music. He is the most musical drummer of his generation.

  • The VT editor will take this footage to the grave.....why oh why isn't the camera on gadd? Steve Gadd, along with Buddy Rich are the 2 MOST GIFTED DRUMMERS TO HAVE EVER GRACED THE STAGE. end of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gratzr yeah. fair enough

  • @gratzr No thats not just the style of Latin music. It dont have to be like that. The band just decided to do it like this, and yes thats typically latin. But they could make the piano less dominating and more varying in the drum solo while it still would be holding a latin rhythm. And that would be nice in my ears - but not in yours, and I respect that.

  • @phenfo

Chick's time is perfect. He's also a very accomplished drummer.

  • @JCLYM

they didn't name him Chick. They named him Armando, after his father.

  • @kook1028 That's Latin music my friend. The piano is a percussion instrument and plays montuno - a repeated rhythmic, melodic and harmonic pattern as an accompaniment. This is the normal role for the piano. I can understand if you don't like it, but it's the genre, the style. Perfectly played.
