Basically it's NOT a wave. Has nothing to do with being a standard surface wave. One, the energy actually is actually distributed from top of water all the way to the bottom of the ocean. A surface wave extends it's energy just a fraction of the way down - under the water. This is why you see the water depth build and build (in this case... build and build and build and build!!!). It's more like the ocean just pours out onto any low/surrounding areas.
The result? PURE DEVASTATION.
