Cool. Apparently six legs is pretty much the most stable number because with every step the robot can lift three legs and still have a tripod arrangment on the ground. after all, two points define a line and three points define a plane!

Lol i feel sorry for that girlfriend when you can't figure out how the human system works.
And Kazbahn1 is right.
Every man made object in the world today is made by people who actually try in school.
I would imagine you being the caveman at the back of the class wacking yourself in the head thinking its funny.

this is useful though(not necesarily this particular video, but the idea)because these mechanisms can be scaled up, used in vehicles, and are going to be. the inventor of the mechanism (theo jansen) is planning on designing a transport method using this exact walking method

I have a very hot and smart girlfriend in fact that I am about to be married to in a couple days. All I am trying to say is geeks should concentrate their talents on something that is useful.
do you think it is possible to make it turn by splitting each half and designating a motor to each? EX. side 1 reverse side two forward?? great work btw.

It is split in half with a motor for each section. It can turn just fine. There is another vid on YouTube which shows it following a line round an oval.

it must take a while to sync the legs properly

Not really. The great thing about this kind of walker is that it balances well whatever stage of the walking cycle the legs are on.
Makes it a great design for a walker that has to turn. Other designs need to worry about getting back into sync after a turn - not really an issue with this one.
