You may have noticed that recently most of the uploads on youtube containing tracks from The Sundays albums are blocked by UMG and/or EMI, which is a terrible shame because some of the videos were very creative and have been on youtube for years. Now I'm all for safeguarding income for the artists but I seriously doubt whether in the case of bands such as The Sundays the blockade is not a counterproductive measure. First of all I think that most viewers of these videos are already familiar with The Sundays and already bought their albums or will get inspired to buy the albums that they didn't have yet. Second, newcomers to The Sundays might be persuaded to start buying all of their albums too, hey guys from UMG and /or EMI, it's called advertising and it is totally free of cost. Ok you do have those people who settle for mp3 of lower quality but it's naive to think that you can stop them from downloading it from somewhere else. I might be wrong but I think that a substantial number of those people will get hooked and in the end will want to own a Sundays album too, after all who can resist those great songs and who can resist Harriet Wheeler's divine singing?
