2010 Judo Test

2010 Judo Belt Promotion Test at Chung's Academy. Throwing portion of the test is shown in real time and in slow motion so that the intent behind the Kuzushi, the Tsukuri, and the Kake can be seen more clearly. Haven't practiced Judo? The Kuzushi is the breaking of the balance, the Tsukuri is the "fitting in" for the throw; and the Kake is the "application" of the throw, or the "follow thru" motion.

Mr. Roman, it doesn't sound as if you do feel bad about your baseless comment. You offer no constructive criticism; just a general insult and an attempt to announce that you are an "instructor". Fortunately for us, we study under a true Korean Grand Master with 2 Silver medals from World Game Judo competitions. Come and train with our club and perhaps with enough work and a deeper understanding of Judo, you'll be able to deal with your personal insecurities.

I agree with what droman30 said. I see most of the problem with the brown belt, in techniques that he does: Uki Otoshi, Uchi Mata, Hane Goshi, etc.

In Hane goshi, the throw happens by chasing the uke, but what I see here happens like it's harai goshi. In uchi mata, he tries to 'lift' the guy with the leg, without proper kuzushi.

Also, it's Sasae Tsurikomi Ashi, not 'goshi'. Tsurikomi goshi is a totally different throw.Having a Judo champion as your teacher is not an indicator of one's skill.

With all due respect you guys really need a lot of work on your technique. I feel bad saying so because in general I'm most critical with myself or people who I test. There was no kuzushi on any of those throws which is why both of you looked like you were struggling to throw each other.
