Dr. Huntsberger is the Assistant Dean for NMSU's Study Abroad Programm; a program for students who would like to expand their traveling boundaries and study in another country. International Business majors study abroad in a university where the spoken language is one other than English.

The Study Abroad program helps students gain a different perspective of how to learn subjects that apply to their major. Other students use the program to advance their career and make them a little more competitive than others who happen to just have a degree. Some students also use this program for personal growth. One of the most important reasons why students study abroad is to be able to learn another language. There is nothing better for a student than having hands-on experience in trying to learn another language.

He also talks about the costs to studying abroad. He does explain some of the extra costs to traveling and how it is a little pricier than a normal semester in their home university. When a student studies abroad, it doesnt necessarily affect their GPA, but they do get credit for the classes taken abroad as long as they pass. Dr. Huntsberger explains how studying abroad helps International Business majors by showing that the student is willing to take the risk in being in another place other than their home country and it shows they are motivated. Studying abroad helps students in the business world.

One major factor Dr. Huntsberger explains is studying abroad is not meant for everyone. He elaborates by saying it is not meant for the weak of heart and students who are not motivated. But he does mention that students who do study abroad say it is a life-changing experience.

This video was created just for you by students in the Fall 2009 College of Business Marketing 489 class: Claudia Castillo, Linzie Amick, Jose Antunez, Abigail Denham, Dominic Lujan, Sophia Marks and Jose Vargas.
