ROCK LESLIE'S SETTINGS

just few chords in order to show how these rotary cabinets could really ROCK!

the first one is the Leslie 21, taken directly from one meter distance (see image).

second is the Motion Sound PRO-3X, microphoned and taken from a couple of flat studio monitors.

the last one is the internal digital simulator of the Keyb/Diversi Organ (unfortunately this is not the last software version, wich is a step better), taken from the same couple of studio monitors.



il primo leslie è ripreso DIRETTAMENTE, cioè lo zoom H2 è proprio davanti al leslie.
si tratta del Leslie 21 + una cassa da basso (cono da 15'', 100 watt).
volume a 1/10.
il segnale dell'organo passa dal pre valvolare prima di entrare nel leslie (la distorsione viene dal pre, NON dal leslie 21)

il secondo ampli,
è il Motion Sound PRO-3X, microfonato e ad un discreto volume (la sua simulazione dei bassi va nel mixer).
la registrazione, sempre con microfonino ZOOM H2 prende mix, microfoni più rotore, che esce dai monitor flat (due Behrigher di poco costo ma che hanno una ottima resa casalinga).
il segnale dell'organo passa dal pre valvolare prima di entrare nel leslie e in questo caso la distorsione viene un pò dal pre e un pò dall'ottimo overdrive del Motion Sound PRO-3X, completamente rivisto rispetto a quello degli altri Motion.

il terzo rotary, anch'esso ripreso col microfonimo davanti ai monitor da studio totalmente flat, è inrealtà la simulazione digitale interna del KeyB (non è l'ultima versione del software, ulteriormente migliorata), con overdrive a metà e nessun pre: il KeyB è dritto nel mixer.

Hi again. just wanted to ask you something.. what way to recommend to Mic up the Leslie 2101?? on the front of the horn, and the bottom speakers, or on mic the side panels??

best way in my opinion for the 2101 is with two mics on the horn (as a regular leslie, with same angle).

then a single mic on the bottom speaker (if you connect an additional amp, otherwise you can send the bass simulator directly to the mix).

i want to know how you get that Leslie 21 to rock and growl. i have a similar set up.

a Leslie 21, and a 12 inch woofer speaker underneath - 200W underneath. i also set the Over Drive on Leslie to 0. cant get it growl crunch like that... i tried Over Drive on hard and turning up over drive level and it sounds a bit like that but then the Leslie sounds too loud in my ear in my small room !! how can i get that sound at a low volume with low body.

the saturation comes from the Speakeasy AMA preamp (as described in the video and in the infos).

that's the 99% of sound :-))))

also-- i use a Nord Electro 2 keyboard organ.. not a big Hammond Organ, i dont know if that makes difference?? any advice, thanks

in realtà si tratta proprio di un semplice switch "on/off" (fast/slow).

la velocità del leslie in slow è sempre quella (e lo stesso dicasi in fast)
