This song is meant to be sung by a quartet, not as a solo, and sounds best a capella. Try listening to The Monkees' great simple version.

Uhh, it's Spanish. And Portuguese doesn't have any Spanish words. It has Portuguese words, that are similar to Spanish and vice versa.

Sounds like they borrowed from Bruce Cockburn - His is the best version I've heard to date, he does it a bit faster. Good guitar playing on this version tho!! Before I got his "Christmas" album I'd never heard it
