@markt8235 the conversion to the radio allows 28.000 to 29.700 MHz up to 30.000 MHz & down to 25.000 MHz which covers the 10 meter band. Providing the propogation is good there have been a few transmissions but I rarely use it for anything other than CB & CEPT.

what do u need to have a home based cb radio and how much will it cost to buy all the equipment

@MarkieBhoy17 you can get a cheap rig off ebay for around £20 - £40 just make sure its FM, not an AM rig. You will need a power pack, 12V DC, Im using a converted PSU from an old computer. An external antenna & coax. You will need an SWR meter to tune the antenna. You can buy bundles from places like CB shack or thunderpole but the range is limited to around 5-10 miles. Get a cheap cb set up, have a talk with people in your area, usually theres someone selling up & will be happy to help you.
