Martin Mars Flying Boat in Lake Elsinore, CA

Was able to actually see this thing fly today, thanks to a little wind clearing the smoke. Certainly hoping the winds don't pick up too much because the Santiago fire is heading my way.

Thanks Don. I deleted the first one. Had camera set on smallest vid setting. Bumped it up one notch. Guess what. . . we're getting rain! Just sprinkles, but water nonetheless! The Santiago fire has slowed its progress towards my area. Whew!

Y'know... :) the flying boat Hughes built and flew that one time, could have been modified to do this work. It was airworthy, Hughes proved that. Imagine the load it could dump on a fire.

I live on the lake where this flying boat calls home. it is one of the most majestic things you will ever see in the sky. I am very happy they sent it to California to help out, although very expensive to run.

Very nice, I loved seeing this bird fly around here. We need one on the lake for good.
