That's great! No, I meant, what do you call a person that shares the same name?

  • @funfurfreak I don't think there's really a specific term for that in English.

  • Oh, another Rachel? What do you call it - the same named person?

  • @funfurfreak Yes, that is my 2nd cousin, and she is also named Rachel!!

  • Hi Rachel, I was wondering what kind of american accent you have. Is it from the north or the south?

  • @devrydiver I speak with what is considered a 'standard' American accent. I grew up in Florida but do not have a southern accent. I then spent about 5 years each in Indiana, Boston, and New York City.

  • @x3iDREAM flap t for AmE, normal t for BrE.

  • Happy birthday Rachel and that frozen yogurt looks so so delicious

  • Hello. I was wondering if the following words are pronoun with a flap t or a true t. ‘little’, ‘bottle’, ‘beetle’ etc.

  • I believe that the American Standard pronunciation is what's spoken mostly New York state, except, of course, in some areas of NY City such as Queens, Bronx and Brooklyn. On the east coast, this standard accent is also spoken in Connecticut and New Jersey and it appears that California follows suit in the west . It's interesting to observe that Newscast anchors will be required to have or be trained in that standard accent so as to be able to go on national TV.

  • Today November 5 buon compleanno f rom Italy

  • @devrydiver Hi, I know Rachel lives in NYC, so I think maybe she has a northeastern accent. Let's wait for her answer..
