I get it, the music was supposed to support the "fast and busy" of this footage, but it was just annoying. Didn't portray the beauty of the visuals at all, neither did the low resolution help with that either.

Beautiful shot at 1:20 with the (contemplative) gargoyle.
-
1:35 reminds me of how noisy we can all be...
-
Very Koyaanisqatsiesque

Nice. I've also done a time-lapse music vid, though to Aerology.

I saw this segment as part of the Chronos movie in the IMAX theater when it first came out. The original soundtrack music is by Michael Stearns but this substitution track seems to fit quite well too. Either way, watching this in an IMAX with the speeded up video and audio is enough to tear your head off. Or get some motion sickness going with your entire peripheral vision under the visual influence.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
being a fan of Koyaanisqatsie and Baraka, I can't find anything new in Chronos, don't like the music or the filming. Looks like a cheap replica to me. shame

Chronos was released in 1985, seven year before Baraka (two years after Koyaanisqatsi)
You´re right about the image quality, compared to Koyaa or Baraka, but
Fricke was still searching for his own style...
