@blenderuser Really, I don't get it, what's your problem?! You need to search the web? Bing is good option. You need e-mail?! Thousands and tens and hundreds of thousands of free and commercial providers. You need calendar? Use Outlook or one of hundreds free apps. Need phone? Just buy whatever you like except Android - there's plenty of choice. So, you can't say, Google is exactly holding gun to your head to make you use their products and services. And stop bitchin' and whinin'...

Let's ban forensic science because it violates criminals and terrorists human right's.

Is that the message?

I personally search google for different things - from porn to weapons of mass destruction. However, I'm not afraid of google retaining my IP address since I don't actually intend to build atom bomb or blow up, say NATO HQ in 9/11 style.

So, what's the bloody problem?

Just don't be a criminal.

Government doesn't care about your latest "hot latina" search.

Yes and google makes it 1000 times easier for them to do so. All the information is gathered in one big company. I know, they are just trying to help, "don't be evil" and all that.. It just even more reminds me of 1984.

Well, as I said, it depends on what do you consider "privacy".

Just think about it.

Your next door neighbor knows more about you than Google ever will.

Same goes to your bank/credit card company. Your mobile provider can also triangulate you within 10 meters, they also know who are your friends and how often (and what) you talk to them.

And let's face it, your or my government can get all that info without problem. They can do that now and they could do that for a long time now.

Yeah right. I remember clicking a google ad one time in my whole life, and it didn't even lead to me buying a product. If my privacy is for sale for one ad click...

So basically, privacy is a non-existing term in your world? Can I install a webcam in your bedroom or in your bathroom? Oh why not - are you going to do something criminal in there? Are you confident knowing that google has your mail, calendar, documents, your address, your contacts, your interests, and if you have an android phone, that they know which apps you have installed and where you have been today, and where you are right now within 10 meters? Good for you, I don't want it. :-)
