In this video, I wanted to introduce you to panel cookers. These can be folded up and stored in places where one can put a notebook. Don't let the simplicity of this cooker fool you, its a powerhouse in that it can cook meats, cakes bisquits, in good time, very hot temps, some, close to 300, especially the taller it is.

This can be kept in a vehicle along with the rest of the supplies used with it for long trips on the road, and used easily in survival situations whether emergency, or just camping and hiking.

All the materials are either cheap, free, or you already had.

This cooker is worth looking into.

It's the Bernard solar panel cooker. The instructions on how to build it can be found here:

http://solarcooking.org/plans/spc.htm

The only difference I suggest is to LEAVE the flaps of the box ON so that you can use the top ones for directing power to the top of the food for browning, and the bottom ones for stablizing the cooker in place.

  • I made a panel cooker similer to this out of an old binder, some poaster board glue and foil. It works great and looks cool when folded up. I might do a video about it.
