it looks like youtube has re-encoded parts 2 to 4 which has caused a drop in the frame rate - I'll see what I can do

Help please, (cont. 3rd)
Also tried Limiting y translate min-max values of the top locater. It controls the locater movement but how can
the spring blend shape be included?
These are oustanding tutorials! Thankyou for stating the shortcut keys, very informative :)

Once you have connected up the network correctly, moving the locator should control the spring, and in part 3 you add a constraint to make the geometry follow along too. Be careful though, Just limiting translate in Y may not give you the desired results if your piston is at an angle. You can always email me too if you're still haveing difficulties.

Help please, (cont. 2nd)
... way out, the distance shape node and locator shape nodes just aren't there.
Trying it as 2 steps: 1)move distance parameter from shape node into (input) x value of range node, and setting the min-max values, Done.
2)move (output) x value of range node into the (waiting input) x value for the helix. BUt can't find the range node anywhere (Hypergraph, Outliner, Hypershader, Connection Editor,Help info, etc).

I'm not sure why it won't map the connections for multiple selected objects, as you can see in the vid it does work. If you have added a range node, but then mapped another object out, you can find your range node in the hypershade but only if you have the split window showing the top and bottom tabs - the created range node is under the utilities tab. Then you should be able to shift select each item and map its connections out.
