long story...annie was with terry when she had emma. he insisted that since he had diseases in his family (lie) she should get a child through artificial inemination. little did she know, he just wanted that so he could get a better chance of having a daughter to molest. annie left terry when she found out he was a pervert and met ryan when emma was 4, then they found out that ryan was the sperm donor that resulted in emma. so he wasnt her legal father but he was her biological father.
