  • You my friend are the one lucky son of a bitch to see 4960 in action! Excuse my foul language. I was at Williams a week ago and saw her rusting away in shame at the depot. I would do anything to see her steamed up again!

  • Man I hear you. It was sad to see 4960 rusting away. Corporate attitudes screw up many things and ideas in this country. As a U.S. Army veteran I say that. It's a dis-service for all.

  • I rode behind her on GCR but also with my parents on a few steam trips when she was still CB&Q. It was like seeing an old friend when I met her again.

  • to bad the new owners are fucken hippy ass "go green" FAGGOTS and retired good steam engines

  • its actually #539

  • will #539 its sp&s #539 will be restored will it idk

  • Yup, I rode behind 4960 today and she's looking and sounding great. NOT the whistle in this video however. 4960 will be doing a full run to the canyon and back on the 19th and the Polar Ex. on Nov 6th. SHOW XANTERRA THIS MATTERS! RIDE THE TRAIN!

  • Maybe she could be brought back again by a special group to operate in Colorado as a CB&Q locomotive again. If it won't run in Grand Canyon, at least bring it back to Colorado.

  • actually, 29 is on display with 4960 too! (Ive never heared about 583)

  • I first saw 4960 in 1960, She was wearing the CB&Q logo in those days and was one of 2 steam locomotives CB&Q maintained for excursions (Northern 5632 being the other). I took an excursion from Aurora, IL to Ottawa, IL on her. When I read that GCRR rescued her, I was happy. Now it appears she may need rescuing again.

  • 736berkshire, I want to join get rid of xanterra.
