"Pavan" by Faure prior to "What Will I Do Without You" played by violinist and vocalist Betty MacDonald and her Quartet at the Newburgh Jazz Series on the historic waterfront in 2007. Betty had a popular jazz radio show in upstate New York, much like Marion McPartland's on NPR.

  • Thanks to all who wrote back to me letting me know Betty has transitioned from this world. It's so appropriate that out of all the songs I could have recorded on video, this medley is one of the two. My heart goes out to all the family, friends and fans of the irreplaceable Betty. It's all so poignant, and such a beautiful-sadness to listen to this now.

  • Did something happen to Betty? I videotaped this at the Newburgh Jazz Festival. I have a radio show and Betty and I talked about her old radio show, and how she had all these great albums and would love to play them on the air again.

  • Betty is much missed. We always asked her to sit in with us whenever we could. Check out this performance from the Unison Arts Center some years back.

  • I'll never forget you Betty. We played some wonderful music together in our all women's band back in the 70's. We showed so many unbelievers what women could do with our talents. I will always keep you in my heart along with all the other fine women musicians and I pray that someday the world will finally recognize how much talent women have to offer. My love to your family and I know that one day we will play some heavenly music together. Bless your beautiful talented soul. Love, Nancy Moore
